About KIAC:
In 1992 a small group of Kelleys Island residents formed the Kelleys
Island Audubon Club to protect, preserve and develop natural habitat
for the birds and wildlife that inhabit the island. The meetings are
held on the third Thursday of each month at the Park Pavilion on
Addison Street. In the cooler months, the meetings are held at St.
Michael’s Hall on Chappel Street. The membership has grown to 80+
members and each meeting provides an opportunity to socialize with a
potluck dinner and nature related programs. Dues are minimal, at ten
dollars per person and twenty-five dollars per family. Kelleys
Island Audubon Club is a 5013C organization, so donations are tax
deductible.
Of special interest the "Nest With the Birds" program is held the
week of Mother’s Day every May and the "Feathers and Foliage
Festival" is held the last Saturday of September. Every year we will
be banding birds on Kelleys Island at Long Point on the Saturday
following Mother’s Day and the last Saturday in September from 7:00
A.M. until 3:00 P.M. All are welcome at all programs and potlucks.
